Herbert Stocks was born on 3 December 1871. During 1903-14 he was employed as an Engineer with Southern and the Pacific Railways in Argentina. In 1918 he was residing in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. In January 1918 he was appointed a 2nd Lieutenant in the R.A.F., ranked as an Engineering Officer 3rd Class in February 1918. Served in Egypt and the Middle East with No. 80 Squadron in 1919, returning to the U.K. in 1920. With copied service papers.

Lester A. John Tapper was born on 6 February 1896. A part owner of an Engineering Works and living at Dalmeny House, Anson Road, Tufnell Park, London, N.W., he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the R.F.C. on 15 April 1916. He qualified as a Bombing Officer and was ranked as a Flying Officer in January 1917 and promoted to Lieutenant in July 1917. During late 1917-early 1918 he was Wing Bombing Instructor with 30 Wing H.Q. During 1918/19 he served in Nos. 25, 27 and 205 Squadrons. With copied service papers.
