Samuel Card was born in the Parish of Burton, near Shepton Mallet, Somerset. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the 18th Regiment at Bristol on 14 February 1855, aged 25 years. With the 1st Battalion he served in Malta, for three years, six months; in the Crimea, for four months; and in India, for seven years, five months. He was discharged on 27 March 1876. Sold with copied service papers.
