British War and Victory Medals (2 Lieut.) scratch to BWM obverse; Territorial Force War Medal 1914-19 (1070 Sjt., R.A.); 1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; War Medal 1939-45, these unnamed; Efficiency Medal, G.VI.R., 1st issue, Malaya (Pte., F.M.S.V.F.) engraved naming, mounted court style for wear, lacquered, very fine and better (7) £320-360

Martin Ernest Wright joined the Territorial Force before the war and became a Serjeant in the Royal Artillery. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Garrison Artillery in November 1917 and was advanced to Lieutenant in May 1919, then serving with the East Anglian R.G.A. On 30 September 1921 he relinquished his commission whilst retaining his rank. After the Great War he went to Malaya - in 1935 he was Manager of the Prang Besar Rubber Estate Ltd in Selangor. Whilst in Malaya he served in the Volunteers, being a Private in the Federated Malay States Volunteer Force. As such he was awarded the Efficiency Medal (Malaya) and two clasps (these not with lot),these published in the F.M.S. Government Gazette of 7 January 1938. During the Second World War he was interned by the Japanese. Sold with copied research.
