William Godfree Clague served variously as a Superintendent in the Office of the Comptroller in Rangoon and in the Superintendent’s Office of the Accountant General. Serving in the Volunteers, he was appointed Honorary Captain and Paymaster of the Volunteer Rifle Corps on 11 November 1885. In that rank he was awarded the Volunteer Force Long Service Medal, the award published in G.O. No. 890 of August 1899. Two years later he was awarded the Volunteer Officers’ Decoration, published in the Gazette of India of 11 May 1901. With copied research.
