Pirosha Edulji Mistry was granted a commission as a Platoon Commander on Probation on 12 June 1922 in the 11th Battalion 2nd Bombay Pioneers (Gazette of India 2 December 1922). He was later styled an Honorary 2nd Lieutenant. For his services in the Auxiliary Force, India, he was awarded the Volunteer Force Long Service Medal in 1926, the award published in I.A.O. 76 of February 1926.
