Sergeant J. R. F. Lowis, Behar Light Horse, was awarded the Volunteer Force Long Service Medal, published in I.A.O. 419 of August 1911. In civilian life he was employed with a number of Indigo Concerns. During 1896-1917 he was Officiating Manager of the Bettiah Raj Estate, at Bettiah, Champaran. With copied research.
