Thomas James Edward Lancaster was born in Ferry-Port-on-Craig, Fife, on 13 November 1919. Before the Second World War he enlisted into a T.A. battalion of the Black Watch and served with them during the war. He was afterwards awarded the Efficiency Medal (Territorial), this published in List No. 1 of April 1946. After the war he joined the Royal Engineers A.E.R., and as a Staff Sergeant he was awarded the Efficiency Medal (A.E.R.), published in List No. 59 of 1963. In December 1960 Lancaster joined the Air Training Cadet Corps and was appointed a Warrant Officer in March 1961. He served in the 2345 (Tayside) Squadron, A.T.C., in Fife. For his service in the A.T.C. he was awarded the Cadet Forces Medal on 12 December 1972. In civil life, Lancaster was employed with British Railways but later he became a Traffic Warden, living at Newport-on-Tay, Fife. Amongst his several civil and military appointments he also found time to serve in the Special Constabulary for which he was awarded the long service medal. Lancaster died in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Dundee, on 13 April 1988. Sold with copied research.
