Charles Radford, a native of Bath, Somerset, joined the Royal Welsh Fusiliers at Wrexham on 9 February 1892, aged 19 years 2 months. He was wounded in both shoulders by a bursting shell at Tientsin Railway Station on 13 July 1900, and discharged medically unfit on 26 March 1901.
