1st Dumbarton Rifle Volunteer Corps, a fine officer’s shoulder belt plate, c. 1887-1908, rectangular silver plated back plate with rounded corners, overlaid with copper-gilt mounts, a scroll ‘Fortidu et Fidelitas’ over a small St Andrew, below this a large Cross of St Andrew with a scroll below ‘Dumbartonshire Volunteers’, at the centre of the Cross a silver plated Elephant with Castle Howdah, no gilt remaining to mounts, otherwise good condition £150-250
