An Interesting Boxer Rebellion Tribute Item, in the form of a hollow silver bullet, with suspension loop to top, 30mm, inscribed ‘G. P. J. Crofts, Tientsin, 17.VI, 23.VI, 14.VII 1900’, the base with Chinese maker’s mark, good condition £80-100

These mementoes are believed to have been presented to members of the Tientsin Volunteers. The dates represent, 17 June 1900, Tientsin foreign settlements fiercely attacked; 23 June 1900, Foreign garrison relieved by the allies after hard fighting; 14 July 1900, Tientsin captured by the allies.
