Captain Alfred Edwin Cecil Cart De Lafontaine, M.C. was killed in action France and Flanders 9 July 1916 whilst serving with the East Yorkshire Regiment, attached to the Head Quarters Staff, 76th Infantry Brigade, 3rd Division. He is buried at Carnoy Military Cemetery, France.
