Indian Mutiny 1857-59, no clasp (Colonel Williamson, Commandant 2d. Infy. Kuppoorthullah Contingent) naming officially engraved in fine running script, toned, nearly extremely fine and rare £150-200

Raja-i-Rajgan Raja Randhir Singh, ruler of Kapurthala, placed all his resources at the disposal of the Government during the Indain Mutiny of 1857, and did much valuable service in suppressing the uprising near his home state. In 1858 he proceeded at the head of his troops into Oudh where they participated in six engagements and captured several guns, returning to Kapurthala in March 1859. Sold with further details including a copy of the complete medal roll for this unit confirming Williamson as Commandant of the 2nd Battalion.
