James I (1406-1437), Groat, First fleur-de-lis issue, Linlithgow, mm. cross pattée, tressure of eight arcs, lis and two saltires on bust, lis and i by neck, i on sceptre handle, rev. one small and three large pellets in first and fourth quarters, lis in second and third quarters, saltire in third quarter, 2.41g/4h (cf. SCBI 35, 657-9; B 28, fig. 464; S 5199). Obverse slightly double-struck at one edge, otherwise about very fine, very rare £500-700
