China, CHINA, ANTIQUE BALANCE OR STEELYARD SCALE, contained in an ‘violin’ shaped and fitted dark rosewood box with swivelling lid, single brass pan and separate weight, ivory steelyard marked in black, 310mm; another, slightly smaller, contained in a similar shaped and fitted patinated bamboo box with swivelling lid, single brass pan, ivory steelyard marked in black (lacking the separate weight), 280mm [2].
