John Edward Redmond (aka Seán Éamonn Mac Réamoinn, 1856-1918), leader of the Irish Parliamentary Party 1900-18. In 1914 Redmond was about to achieve Irish Home Rule, under an Act that would grant an interim form of self-government to Ireland; however the implementation was suspended by the start of the First World War. This plaque must just pre-date this suspension
