Crimea 1854-56, 3 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Sebastopol (2892, 79 Cameron Highlanders) regimentally impressed naming; Indian Mutiny 1857-58, 1 clasp, Lucknow (79th Highlanders) regimental number has been added before naming; Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., small letter reverse (2892 Corpl., 79th Foot); Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue, unnamed, contact marks and edge bruising, otherwise nearly very fine (4) £350-400

Alexander Weir was born in Paisley, Renfrew, and enlisted in Glasgow in May 1842. He served in the Crimea and during the Indian Mutiny, and was discharged in May 1864. Sold with copy service papers which confirm medals and clasps.
