Florence Caroline Shugar was appointed 2nd Subaltern and Subaltern in 1942, and Temporary Junior Commander in 1943. She served on the Staff at Anti-Aircraft Command, and later in the Department of the Adjutant-General at the War Office. She became Temporary Senior Commander, Deputy Assistant Director A.T.S., in 1945 and was awarded the Efficiency Medal in May 1948 as Honorary Senior Commander.
