Eric Richard Hanley was attached, as Lieutenant, to the Gold Coast Regiment W.A.F.F. from October 1927 to September 1931. He became Captain, 4 Field Regiment, Nowshera, in May 1936; Major, August 1940; Lieutenant-Colonel, October 1947; retired August 1950.
