Landon Dealtry Jackson was born on 16 April 1862, and was appointed Lieutenant, Royal Garrison Artillery, in July 1881. He served in Burma with 1/1 Eastern Division R.A. (Medal with 2 clasps). Served as Local Major whilst employed with Colonial Forces in Queensland, Australia, 1890-95. During the Great War he was Temporary Brigadier General, Commands and Staff Section, but did not qualify for medals. He was appointed C.B.E. (Military) in January 1920.
