Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 4 clasps, Suakin 1884, El-Teb-Tamaai, Suakin 1885, Tofrek (25434 Gunr. R. Poole, 6/1st Sco. Div. R.A.) light pitting, otherwise good very fine and scarce £250-300

Robert Poole was born in the parish of Maidley, Shropshire, in October 1847, and enlisted at Wickham in February 1866. He served in Egypt in 1882 with the 6/1st Scottish Brigade (Medal), and in the Soudan 1884-85 (four clasps to Egypt medal). He transferred to the Coast Brigade, R.A., in March 1886, and was awarded the L.S. & G.C. medal the following month. He was finally discharged at Edinburgh in January 1890.
