Captain Sir Herbert Acton Blake, K.C.V.O. (Cr. 1914), J.P., F.R.G.S., Elected an Elder Member of Trinity House 1900, Deputy Master 1910-26. For some years he was in command of ships of the British India Steam Navigation Company, Commander R.N.R. retired. Member of the Departmental Committee of the Board of Trade on the Mercantile Marine, and also on the Committee on Tonnage. Member of the Port of London Authority 1906-07. A British delegate on the International Committee for Safety of Life at Sea 1913. Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Pilotage to the Board of Trade.
