An extremely rare ‘Raised Dates’ Q.S.A. awarded to Driver E. J. Budd, 66th Battery, Royal Field Artillery

Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, the reverse with raised dates in relief ‘1899 1900’, 5 clasps, Cape Colony, Tugela Heights, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal, Orange Free State (25837 Dvr. E. J. Budd, 66th Bty. R.F.A.) the top clasp attached later, some edge bruises, otherwise very fine and extremely rare £1500-2000

The raised dates variety is normally associated with those medals issued to Lord Strathcona’s Horse. This example is one of less than half a dozen so far known to Imperial units.
