Army of India 1799-1826, 1 clasp, Ava (J. Gregory, 41st Foot) two edge bruises to reverse rim, otherwise very fine £400-450

James Gregory was born at Ormskirk, Liverpool, a hair dresser by trade, and enlisted at Naas, Co. Kildare, on 31 August 1817, aged 18 years. He served throughout the Burmese War and served a total of sixteen years three hundred and fifty two days in the East Indies. He was promoted Corporal in August 1824, and Sergeant in July 1826. He was finally discharged as Colour Sergeant in September 1839. Sold with copy service papers.
