China 1857-60, 2 clasps, Taku Forts 1860, Pekin 1860 (John Tubb, 2nd Bn. 60th Rifles) officially impressed naming, with silver brooch bar, suspension refixed, some contact marks, about very fine £200-240

John Tubb was born in Cookham, Berkshire. An Agricultural Labourer by occupation, he enlisted into the 60th Rifles at Reading, Berkshire on 26 January 1859, aged 21 years. Serving with the 2nd Battalion, he was posted to India in late 1859 and thence to China in 1860, serving in the attack upon the Taku Forts and the advance to Pekin, 1860. During 1866-67 he was with the 2nd Battalion serving in Ireland during the Fenian troubles. Having completed ten years with the Colours, Tubb was discharged at Winchester on 27 March 1869. He died in March the following year. Sold with copied research.
