Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Toulouse (J. Henley, 10th Hussrs.) nearly very fine £700-800

James Henley was born at Kingsnorth, Kent, in 1793, and enlisted into the 10th Hussars on 15 June 1813, and fought at the battle of Toulouse in April 1814. He was promoted to Corporal in March 1815, to sergeant in February 1820, and to Troop Sergeant Major in November 1823. He was appointed Cornet and Riding Master in the 5th Dragoon Guards on 6 January 1825; Cornet, 4th Dragoons, 5 October 1826; Cornet, 5th Dragoon Guards, by exchange 15 March 1827; Lieutenant, 28 November 1845; Captain, 25 August 1854; transferred as Captain to 95th Foot, 25 March 1856, and retired with rank of Major, 24 June 1856.
