Moores was granted a Regular Army Emergency Commission as a 2nd Lieutenant on the General List, African Colonial Forces Section, on 5 October 1940. He was promoted a War Substantive Lieutenant in August 1941 and became a Temporary Captain in August 1942. Moores later became a War Substantive Captain and Temporary Major in May 1946. Awarded the Efficiency Medal (Kenya) (The Official Gazette of Kenya, 26 July 1955). With copied gazette extract.
