19th Century, Smithfield Club, 1845, a silver award medal by W. Wyon, bust of Earl Spencer left, rev. bust of the Duke of Richmond right, edge named (As Breeder Best Beast in Class 19, 1880, J. Stewart Oxley, Fen Place, Turners Hill, Sussex), 49mm (BHM 2218; E 1400). Obverse with light scuffing in fields and reverse with edge knock between 6 and 7 o’clock, otherwise extremely fine and attractively toned (£40-50)
