Alexander Gordon Noble was born in Gosforth, Northumberland and enlisted at Durham, originally into the Durham Light Infantry. Serving with the 8th Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment he was awarded the Military Medal for bravery. He was killed in action on 14 July 1916, aged 27 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Noble of 7 Lawson Terrace, Durham. Sold with copied research.
