Memorial Plaque (4) (Percy Owen Mears; Sidney James Rowden; Percy Musson; Leslie Charles Simpson) very fine (6) £140-180

Robert Edward Wickers was born in the City of London and lived and enlisted at Stepney. Serving with the 20th Battalion London Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders on 3 June 1917. He was buried in the Chester Farm Cemetery, Belgium.

Percy Owen Mears was born and lived in Plumstead, Kent and enlisted at Blackheath. Serving with the 20th Battalion London Regiment he died of wounds on 26 August 1917, aged 19 years. He was buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium. He was the son of Owen Samuel and Ada Jane Mears of 19 Ingledew Road, Plumstead.

Sidney James Rowden was born in New Cross, London, lived in Lewisham and enlisted at Blackheath. Serving with the 1st/20th Battalion London Regiment he was killed in action on 21 May 1916, aged 18 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the the Arras Memorial. He was the son of John and Fanny Rowden of 21 Ermine Road, Lewisham. All with copied research.

Percy Musson was born in Godling, Nottinghamshire and enlisted at Nottingham. Formerly with the R.A.S.C., then serving with the Royal West Kent Regiment and posted to the 2nd/20th Battalion London Regiment, he died of wounds on 8 September 1918. He was buried in the St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen.

Leslie Charles Simpson lived at Lewisham and enlisted at Blackheath. Serving with “C” Company 2nd/20th Battalion London Regiment, he was killed in action on 15 August 1916, aged 19 years. He was buried at Ecoivres Military Cemetery, Mont-St. Eloi and was the son of James and Emily Simpson of Lewisham.
