Marthinus Hermanus Le Roux was attested at Cape Town for the South African Medical Corps on 15 April 1942, aged 40 years. He was discharged at Cape Town on 14 April 1949. Le Roux re-attested for the S.A.M.C. at Wynburg on 1 May 1949. He was discharged on 30 September 1950. Le Roux then joined the Assistant Medical General of the Western Province Command. He joined at Wynburg on 1 October 1950 for the South Africa Medical Services (Citizen Force). He was transferred to Class A Reserve on 1 October 1960 as a consequence of the end of his engagement. For his extended service Le Roux was awarded the John Chard Medal (Government Gazette 17 April 1959). Sold with John Chard Medal certificate of award; W.W.2 medals forwarding slip; Parchment Certificates of Discharge (2) for 14 April 1949 and 30 September 1950; Certificate of Transfer to Reserve, 1 October 1960.
