As a Leading Aircraftsman in the R.A.F.V.R., John Oriel Ball was granted a commission as Acting Pilot Officer on probation on 21 April 1941. He served in the Administrative and Special Duties Branch. On 25 September 1941 he was advanced to Pilot Officer on probation and was confirmed in that rank on 25 July 1942. He was promoted to Flying Officer (War Substantive) on 25 September 1942. Ball was awarded the Air Efficiency Award as an Acting Flight Lieutenant in 1950. Sold with copied research.
