Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Relief of Kimberley, Paardeberg, Driefontein (23046 Sapr. H. Malone, R.E.) good very fine £140-180

Henry Malone was born in Wolverhampton. A Bricklayer by occupation and a member of the 3rd Battalion Staffordshire Regiment, he attested for the Royal Engineers at Lichfield on 1 August 1888, aged 21 years, 2 months. Serving in the Boer War with the 38th Field Company, R.E., he was wounded at Paardeberg, 18 February 1900. Invalided home, he was discharged on 9 December 1901. Sold with copied attestation papers. The Royal Engineers had two killed and five wounded at Paardeberg.
