13 officers and 212 other ranks of the Royal Highlanders had 5-clasp medals for Egypt.

Josiah Rhodes was born at Newcastle under Lyne, Staffordshire, and enlisted for the 18th Brigade at Chester on 1 July 1875, a collier by trade, aged 19 years 7 months. Posted to 1/22nd Foot, he deserted on 11 October 1875, but rejoined in January 1877. In August of that year he transferred to the 57th Brigade, transferring to the 79th Foot the following month and to the 42nd in December 1877. He served in Egypt from August 1882 to January 1886, and thereafter at Home until discharged on 4 October 1889. Sold with copy discharge papers.
