4 officers and 44 other ranks of the 5th Dragoon Guards served in the Heavy Camel Regiment on the Nile, 3 officers and 13 other ranks having this single clasp.

William Smith was born at Warrington, Lancashire, and enlisted at Leeds on 15 February 1882, a musician by trade. He was appointed a Trumpeter on 21 August 1882, and discharged with epilepsy on 17 December 1895. Sold with copy discharge papers.
