George Wilkinson was born at Patricroft, Lancaster, and enlisted into the Royal Artillery at Bury on 22 August 1899, aged 23, a groom by trade. He served in South Africa from November 1901 to October 1902, and was then in India until November 1907. Sold with copy discharge papers which confirm both medals.
