Hubert Cecil Delacour Jarrett was born on 22 July 1876, and educated at Stonyhurst College, one of four soldier brothers, two of whom were killed in the War. He was first commissioned on 5 August 1896, and joined the 19th Punjab Infantry in December 1897. He saw service on the Punjab Frontier in 1897-98, and in Tibet in 1903-04, and was promoted to Major on 5 August 1914. He proceeded to France and Flanders in October 1914 and appears to have been invalided home in October 1915. Major Jarrett died in India on 21 December 1919. Sold with research including two copied group photographs including Jarrett in uniform wearing the first two medals.
