Memorial Plaque (2) (George Arthur Dampier; George Thomas Sutton) first with some corrosion, very fine and better (2) £60-80

Gearge Arthur Dampier lived at Catford and enlisted at Blackheath. Serving in “A” Company 2nd/20th Battalion London Regiment, he was killed in action on 7 November 1917 whilst serving with the Egypt Expeditionary Force. He was buried in the Beersheba War Cemetery.

George Thomas Sutton was born in Southwark, lived in Walworth and enlisted at Southwark. Serving with the 1st/20th Battalion London Regiment he was killed in action on 21 August 1917, aged 34 years.Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. He was the son of Frederick and Margaret Sutton and husband of Elizabeth Sutton of 189 Portland Street, Walworth, London.
