D.C.M. London Gazette 15 March 1920 ‘For gallantry, resource and devotion to duty over a period of two and a half years active service as a Lewis Gun Sergeant. His keeness and ability have been of the utmost value to the battalion, and in most trying circumstances he has set an example of courage and endurance hard to equal.’

A total of nine D.C.M’s were awarded to the 2/20th Battalion, London Regiment.
