Medals & clasps verified (WO 100/67 refers), his Khedive’s Star appearing on the roll of the 1st Mounted Infantry. Only 27 men from the 2nd Battalion were awarded the Egypt & Sudan Medal, and just one officer and 14 other ranks were present at Abu Klea.
