Royal Humane Society, small bronze medal (successful) (The Revd. Charles Walsham, M.A., 9th August 1880) with bronze buckle on ribbon, nearly extremely fine £120-160

The Reverend Charles Walsham, M.A., aged 42 years, Vicar of Sculcoates, Hull, rescued J. Parkin, aged 10, a schoolboy from Hull. The salvor was conducting a funeral in the adjoining cemetery. He promptly threw off his surplice and coat, plunged into the canal just as the boy sank and succeeded in landing him’ (Ref. R.H.S. Case No. 20,995).
