In the ‘Remarks’ section of the latter is noted, ‘Commanding Base Depot, Green Point, Cape Town, from 22 March 1900 till 9 May 1901 and service in Orange River Colony and Transvaal when conducting Lord Roberts Mails to Pretoria and returning from Johannesburg in charge of Boer ..?.. undesirables and military prisoners’.
