Lyle Manus McKerrell came from Leith and enlisted into the Hampshire Regiment on 14 May 1915. Serving with the 15th Battalion Hampshire Regiment in France he gained the M.M. for bravery in the field. He was discharged on 6 May 1918 as a result of wounds and was awarded the Silver War Badge. Sold with copied gazette and roll extracts and M.M. card.
