Aubrey Haines was killed in action in Italy on 16 October 1944, while serving in the 1st Battalion, Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Regiment. Buried in Faenza War Cemetery, he was 34 years of age and left a widow, Grace, then resident at Ware, Hertfordshire.
