Sold with four copied roll extracts. A Nesbitt’s Horse roll extract shows entitlement to the above three clasps and that a ‘Cape Colony’ clasp was awarded in error; it states that the ‘Defence of Mafeking’ and ‘Transvaal’ were awarded for service with the Protectorate Regiment. Another sheet shows entitlement to the clasps ‘South Africa 1901 and 1902’. A Protectorate Regiment Frontier Force roll extract shows ‘394 Trooper William Sydney Taylor’ later Lieutenant in Nesbitt’s Horse, as entitled to the clasps ‘Cape Colony’, ‘Orange Free State’ and ‘Transvaal’. Listed in the published ‘Defence of Mafeking’ roll under ‘Nesbitt’s Horse’ as being entitled to the three clasps as on the medal.
