India General Service 1854-95, 2 clasps, Hazara 1888, Hazara 1891 (60407 Gunr. W. Speed, No. 2 By. 1st Bde. Sc. Dn. R.A.) unofficial connection between clasps, very fine £160-200

William Speed was born in Cupar, Fife. A Farm Servant by occupation, he attested for the Royal Artillery at Dundee on 10 March 1887, aged 22 years, 2 months. Serving in India, October 1889-November 1895, he served with the 1st Brigade Scottish Division R.A. in the Black Mountain Expedition of 1888, and with the 1st Mountain Battery R.A. in the Hazara Field Force during 1891. He was discharged on the termination of his period of service in March 1899. Sold with copied services papers.
