Joseph Lucien Dorval enlisted in the Canadian Army at Montreal in September 1950, was posted to the 2nd Battalion, Royal 22nd Regiment, and arrived in Korea in April 1951. Wounded in action in that November (Official Casualty List No. 77 of 1951 refers), he returned to Canada in March 1952. Dorval was finally discharged in March 1957, having qualified for his Parachute Badge and been advanced to Corporal in June 1955.
