(14473494 Sjt., Manch.); General Service 1962, 1 clasp, Northern Ireland (Capt., QLR); Army L.S. & G.C., E.II.R, 2nd issue, Regular Army (Capt., King’s Own Border), mounted court style as worn, first with edge bruise, good very fine and better (3) £200-240

Colin Frederick Stratford was born on 6 January 1928 and enlisted into the General Service Corps on 27 September 1945. Transferred to the Loyal Regiment in May 1945, he served with the BAOR, November 1948-March 1951 and the FARELF, May 1951-November 1952. Transferred to the Manchester Regiment in November 1952, he served with the BAOR, September 1954-June 1957. After a short period with the King’s Regiment, he was posted to the Loyal Regiment, serving with them as part of FARELF, October 1958-January 1960; BAOR, January 1960-January 1962, and June 1963-June 1964, and British Guiana, August-December 1965. As a Warrant Officer Class 1 he was discharged to a commission on 30 November 1966. He attained the rank of Captain in April 1972. Sold with Regular Army Certificate of Service; Qualification and Record Card (2); Army Certificate of Education (2), 1st and 2nd Class; and several group photographs.
