Timothy Mansfield was born in Ardmore, Co. Waterford. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the 84th Regiment at Cork on 7 February 1852, aged 18 years. During the suppression of the Indian Mutiny he served in the 1st Relief Force. In March 1859 he was transferred to the 44th Regiment and served with them in China Campaign. He was transferred to the 83rd Regiment in 1862 and remained with them until discharged in 1873. Sold with copied service papers and roll extracts.
