William Arthur Richardson was born in and enlisted at Brighton, Sussex. Serving as a Company Sergeant-Major with the 2nd Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 23 November 1914.

D.C.M. London Gazette 13 February 1917. ‘For conspicuous gallantry in action. When his company became mixed with the wave in front, he reformed it and conducted its further advance. He set a splendid example of courage and coolness throughout’.

C.S.M. W. Richardson, 2nd Battalion Oxf. & Bucks. L.I., died of wounds on 11 May 1918, aged 30 years. He was buried in the Doullens Communal Cemetery Extension No.2. Entitled to the 1914-15 Star.

Frederick Richardson was born in and enlisted at Brighton, Sussex. Serving as a Private in the 2nd Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 14 August 1914. As a Corporal in the battalion he was killed in action on 30 July 1916, aged 23 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. Entitled to 1914 Star clasp.

Edward Richard Richardson was born in and enlisted at Brighton, Sussex. Serving as a Sergeant in the 1st Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, he entered the Asiatic theatre of war on 5 December 1914. He died in Mesopotamia on 24 September 1916, aged 30 years. He was buried in the Baghdad (North Gate) War Cemetery.

The three brothers were the sons of Cain and Elizabeth Mary Richardson, of 18 Kimberley Road, Brighton. All three with copied death certificates, m.i.c. and other research.
