Harold Patrick Geddes Young was born in Dundee, Forfarshire, in 1884, and was educated at Dundee High School. Employed as a District Engineer, living at Kandy, he returned to Britain in 1915 and was commissioned into the 7th Battalion Scottish Rifles at Grangemouth in April 1915. He entered the Balkan theatre of war on 18 August 1915 and was posted to Gallipoli attached to the 8th Army Corps Mining Company based at Cape Helles, August-October 1915. Hospitalized at Alexandria and London, October 1915-January 1916; he was discharged in May 1916. Sold with copied research.
